EAMONN Holmes revealed he and Ruth Langsford were miles apart over his desire to return to his native Northern Ireland.
The TV couple announced on Saturday they were splitting up after 14 years.
Belfast-born Eamonn presented his GB News show yesterday morning still wearing his wedding ring.
He said last year the couple didn't see eye to eye over their future, as Ruth had made it clear she did not want to move across the Irish Sea.
He told Kaye Adams' How to be 60 podcast last February: "I've always pined to go back to Belfast. I'd love to have a house with a sea view.
"I'd love to breathe in sea air and I always associate that with Ireland. I think that would make me happy.
