I've got the bottle for a battle

ASTON OXBOROUGH is relishing the glove battle with loan star Krisztian Hegyi to be the new Motherwell No.1. And Oxborough hopes he has done enough to convince manager Stuart Kettlewell he should start in their Premiership opener against Ross County on Saturday.

The 26-year-old had been understudy to Liam Kelly for the past two seasons.

But with the former Motherwell captain having moved to Rangers the No.1 spot is up for grabs.

Well have brought in Hegyi from West Ham and Kettlewell gave them two games each in the Premier Sports Cup group stage.

Oxborough was their penalty shootout hero as they clinched a bonus point against Montrose then kept a clean sheet and saved two spot-kicks as they lost 3-1 on penalties to Partick Thistle in their final group game.
