A TRADE union leader has called for the Labour Government to have the power to push through new nuclear power stations in Scotland.
GMB boss Gary Smith said Scottish Secretary Ian Murray must have the final say on the grounds of national security.
He also wants planning laws to be reformed to stop locals from trying to block the construction of new plants.
He said: “We have to take on ‘nimbyism’. The focus needs to be on jobs, not snobs.”
The construction of Hinkley Point C power station in Somerset was started by the Tories in 2017 and will continue under Labour.
