CAMPAIGNERS are set for a showdown with theme-park bosses over controversial plans for a Flamingo Land site on the banks of Loch Lomond.

More than 94,000 people and organisations have objected to the £40million project.

It would see 100 woodland lodges, two hotels, a monorail, a waterpark shops, and restaurants in picturesque Ballcoh.

Developer Lomond Banks, working for the Yorkshire theme park operator, insist the plans will create jobs and tourism and help with economic regeneration in the area.

But Scottish Greens co-leader Patrick Harvie says the "garish proposals for the 46-acre site will wreck the one of the most iconic sites in the country.

The application is now the most objected to in Scottish history according to outraged people against the plans.
