NHS BOSSES FACE £6.5M BRIBERY RAP

FIVE men are to face trial on bribery and corruption charges relating to NHS contracts worth £6.5million.

Two ex-NHS bosses, Alan Hush, 67, and Gavin Cox, 58, are accused of accepting bribes in exchange for contracts won by Ayrshire-based telecoms firm Oricom and its directors Adam Sharoudi, 40, Gavin Brown, and David Bailey, both 46.

The charges relate to three more NHS bosses and the contracts were secured with NHS Lothian, NHS Grampian, NHS Lanarkshire, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and NHS Ayrshire and Arran over a seven-year period.

The Daily Record first reported on an investigation into the allegations in 2015.

The charges were revealed at the High Court in Glasgow yesterday, when defence counsel for four accused lodged not guilty pleas to all charges. No plea was entered by Bailey's lawyer.
