'Out of touch' PM to cut tax

RISHI Sunak has been slammed over a pledge to cut taxes and clamp down on "welfare fraudsters" ahead of the Autumn Statement.

The Prime Minister said taxes could be cut because inflation has halved in the last year.

He also described the fact that two million working-age people are not in employment as a "national scandal".

Sunak did not say which taxes would be cut but said it would be done "carefully and sustainably".

But the SNP insisted the Autumn Statement should boost household incomes rather than squeezing them, while Labour said the Tories had made workers worse off.
