PHONEY WAR

JOHN McGINN has already been on the phone to his old Hibs team-mates as he looks to come calling on continental duty.

But Jimmy Jeggo insists nobody in Leith can afford to get hung up on the glamour Europa Conference League play-off tie against Aston Villa that could lie in wait next week.

Not when Lee Johnson's players need to dial in to the job that still needs to be done in Switzerland tomorrow.

Jordan Obita's 90th minute strike at Easter Road has given them a two-goal cushion heading to the banks of Lake Lucerne.

But the Hibees are not here for the sights, stunning as the snow-capped Mount Pilatus that overlooks the expanse of water may be. This is Jeggo's fifth crack at qualifying for the groups after spells with Sturm Graz, Austria Vienna and Aris Thessaloniki. Not once has the 31-year-old Aussie's made it beyond this third qualifying round in either the Europa or Conference League.
