GLAM rock paedophile Gary Glitter was back behind bars yesterday - 39 days after he walked free from prison.
The disgraced pop star, 78, was recalled after a probe into his use of a smartphone and the Dark Web.
Cowardly Glitter sneaked out of an isolated bail hostel at about 6pm last night. He was accused of breaching bail conditions.
He hid beneath a blanket on the back seat of an unmarked police car as he was taken back to prison.
Glitter had been freed halfway through a 16-year prison sentence for sexually abusing girls under the age of 13.
It is understood Justice Secretary Dominic Raab has demanded a full investigation from officials into the scandal.
A source said: "Glitter hasn't left the hostel since he was released - he's even had other convicts do his shopping for him.
"But now he's been sent back to prison for breaching his licence, it's clear he has no remorse for his crimes.
