A “POP-UP brothel” appeared inside a trendy apartment block, claim “gobsmacked” neighbours who said it made their lives hell.

Furious residents in Ayr say their peace was disturbed by a stream of clients arriving at the seafront spot.

And they’ve slammed the growth of pads in the area being taken over by firms running short-term lets.

Retired couple Alan and Jean Mackay noted 11 men arriving at the next-door flat over a period of three days.

They feared sex workers had set up camp, with women also spotted arriving and leaving.

The majority of the men stayed for about 30 minutes, with the longest staying for one hour, according to the couple.
