
HOMEOWNERS living near "monster pylons" have hit out at an "insulting" plan to slash their energy bills by £250 a year as compensation.
Locals in Deeside, Aberdeenshire, where a massive “electricity motorway” of super-sized pylons is planned, say their homes are being devalued by up to 40 per cent as a result.
And they've slammed a new Labour government offer to knock £2500 off their utility bills over the next decade as “derisory”.
John Rahtz, who lives in the rural village of Echt and chairs the Deeside Against Pylons campaign, blasted: “It’s ridiculous.
