A DAD was shot dead in the street by a gunman who fled on an electric scooter.
Neil Wilson, 37, was rushed to hospital after several shots were fired but could not be saved.
An underworld source said: "The shooter took off straight away."
A GUNMAN who shot dead a man is being hunted by police after escaping on an electric scooter.
The victim of the attack, named locally as 37-year-old dad-of-three Neil Wilson, was hit several times during the attack on a street in Greenock at about lam yesterday.
He was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but despite doctors' best efforts to save him, he died a short time later.
An underworld source told the Record: "The shooter was on an electric scooter and took off straight away.
"The scooters are obviously small and very fast, and the area is like a rabbit warren with loads of lanes and staircases connecting the streets.
"The scooters mean they could escape really quickly without having to spend much time on the main roads.
"That means there's much less chance of them being spotted by anyone, so less chance of them being identified.
"The cops on the investigation are working flat out on it trying to look into every possible scenario.
