SCOTT'S EURO VISION

BRIAN O'NEIL reckons Scott McTominay is the key to Erik ten Hag AND Steve Clarke's Euro dreams after his stunning double against Spain.

Coming back to Old Trafford with four goals in his locker from Scotland's Euro 2024 qualifiers against Cyprus and La Roja has done wonders for the Manchester United man's self-belief.

He grabbed another goal in the weekend win over Everton to boost his confidence further.

Now another Spanish lesson is on the horizon for the 26-year-old as United face Sevilla tonight at home in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.

The Reds have already beaten La Liga champions-elect Barcelona and Real Betis in the knockout stages as well as overcoming Real Sociedad in the groups.

O'Neil, who won seven caps playing as both a stopper and a midfielder like McTominay, said: "Scoring two goals against Spain would have sent Scott back to Manchester on an incredible high.

"He's gone back to the training ground at Carrington and those team-mates who had been away with Argentina, Brazil and England will have looked at Scott in a new light.

"Scotland might not be a major country in world football but we are now and people are talking about Scotla and Scott.
