A CONVICTED pervert who was blocked in a street by locals after being caught making sexual remarks to a 15-year-old girl has been banned from communicating with kids.
We revealed how George Collins's arrest was caught on camera after furious residents used their vehicles to stop his car from leaving the scene, in Tullibody, Clackmannanshire, in March 2021.
Now, more than two years later, the 66-year-old has admitted an offence under the Sexual Offences Act. At Alloa Sheriff Court, Collins admitted communicating indecently with a child.
The pensioner, of Kirkcaldy, had been due to face trial last week but pled guilty instead.
He was sentenced to a three-year community payback order with a number of restrictions on his behaviour. He was also placed on the sex offenders register for three years.
Prosecutor Rachel Wallace said Collins had become friends with the 15-year-old victim's mother.
