MAN UTD V COPENHAGEN
MANCHESTER UNITED had to wait more than 12 months to get back into the Champions League.
But their participation in the competition could be in ruins within three games if Erik ten Hag’s men do not get a positive result tonight.
Under normal circumstances, the visit of FC Copenhagen in the group stages wouldn’t hold much trepidation or excitement for the English giants. But two defeats in their opening games of Group A have changed all that.
United sit bottom and pointless – meaning unforeseen levels of jeopardy have been added to a game in which losing is not an option. A third-straight defeat would leave ten Hag’s side facing mission impossible when it comes to reaching the knockout stage.
Which is a place United used to be accustomed to reaching.
