SNP & GREENS IN PICKET LINE RIFT

WALKOUT Wednesday drove a wedge between the SNP and its government partners after Scottish Green MSPs refused to cross a picket line.

The SNP ordered their MSPs to continue as normal” while striking civil servants gathered in protest outside the Scottish Parliament.

The workers were among the thousands in the public sector who walked out in the UK yesterday over pay and conditions.

Members of the PCS union picketed Holyrood and encouraged MSPs and journalists not to enter Parliament in support.

The Greens, who signed a power-sharing deal with the SNP in 2021, said none of its MSPs would be at parliament.

Labour MSPs previously failed in a bid to suspend yesterday's parliamentary business and move items for discussion to Tuesday and today.
