STAINED CLOTHES FOUND OUTSIDE HOME OF AMBER ACCUSED

STAINED clothes were found in a bin outside where a man accused of murdering his sister was living, a trial has heard.

Connor Gibson is charged with the sexual assault and murder of Amber Gibson, 16, at Cadzow Glen, Hamilton, on November 26, 2021.

Jurors heard yesterday that Gibson, 20, was staying at the town’s Blue Triangle at the time.

A police officer told the High Court in Glasgow she found a white Levi’s T-shirt and grey shorts in the wheelie bin.

She said the T-shirt and shorts had stains while grey Adidas trainers seized from Gibson’s room had dirt on them.

Gibson said in his police statement he had been wearing a Rangers top and camouflage shorts on the night of Amber’s disappearance. He said he put his clothes in the washing basket after returning home from a walk with Amber following a disagreement between them.

The court was shown CCTV of her last moments alive, where Gibson was seen wearing grey Adidas trainers and grey shorts.

Detective Sergeant Karen Murray, 43, told how she took Gibson’s statement at about 11.30am on November 28.
