THE owner of a Jim Baxter 1967 Wembley jersey pulled from auction after other shirts emerged has "complete confidence" in its authenticity.
Mark Deighan's top - said to be worn by Baxter in Scotland's Daily Record historic 3-2 win Stolars over England was set to go under the hammer at auction house Tear's after being on display at Ibrox for a decade.
But the lot - gifted to Mark's dad by a Rangers star - was pulled hours before sale after the Record told of two other claims on the iconic jersey.
Mark, who was born in Edinburgh but lives in Kent, believes further investigations by experts will "crack the mystery" and prove him to be the rightful owner.
