Syria rebel killed

RUSSIAN-BACKED air strikes yesterday killed the leader of the terrorist group who conquered Syria's second largest city.

Abu Mohammed al-Jawlani died as Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, with help from Vladimir Putin, fought back following Saturday's insurgency.

The wanted terrorist, who had a $10million bounty on his head from the US, was the leader of Islamist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.

Assad gave the go-ahead for air strikes in rebel-held Idlib yesterday. Observers said at least four civilians, including two children, were killed in the city, 35 miles from Aleppo.

Also yesterday, Russian planes bombed Aleppo for the first time since 2016. SOHR said more than 370 people, including 48 civilians, have been killed since Wednesday.
