Tate and Tennant turned back time

TWO blasts from the past couldn't wait to reunite with Doctor Who supremo Russell T Davies... so they agreed to do a reunion special before it even had the green light.

David Tennant, 52, and Catherine Tate, 53, will return as the Doctor and his assistant, Donna Noble, in this winter's 60th anniversary three-parter.

Showrunner Russell said Catherine first proposed the idea of bringing Donna back after taking part in a "tweetalong" during the pandemic.

The 60-year-old said: "I just love David and Catherine together.

"Catherine said, 'Oh, I've always loved Donna Noble and wouldn't it be marvellous to make some more?'

"And I went, 'Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, like that. And then she asked David. She said, 'Would you make some more?"
