TEEN ASSAULTED KIDS' HOME STAFF EVERY DAY

Violence and sex threats a daily nightmare STAFF at a children's home were attacked every day by a boy resident who made "horrific" threats of sexual violence against them.

Jamie McQuoid grabbed one female worker in his room, squeezed her neck and told her "Scream for help or I'll rape you," a court heard.

The now 18-year-old admitted assaulting and subjecting staff to indecent comments at two Lanarkshire residential homes in 2022 and 2023.

Court Rebecca Clark, prosecuting, told Hamilton Sheriff Court McQuoid was described by the 51-year-old male deputy manager at one home as "unpredictable and aggressive". The "biggest challenge" was getting him to take his medication.
