Leaders told they are staring down barrel of eco doom

THE world is on the brink of five climate “tipping points” which could devastate humanity and last hundreds of thousands of years. 

New global research revealed as the COP28 summit in Dubai yesterday warned world leaders are staring down the barrel of a series of “devastating domino effects” that could cause sweeping, irreversible changes to our planet.

The Global Tipping Points report said Earth is already almost at the point of no return, with events like the collapse of the planet’s biggest ice sheets, the widespread thawing of permafrost, and the loss of coral reefs.
