THEY THINK IT'S ALL OVER.. IT IS NOW

ENGLAND'S heartbroken players vowed "we'll be back" after their World Cup dream was shattered in Sydney.

The Lionesses spoke of their collective pride but struggled to keep a grip on their emotions after losing the final 1-0 to Spain.

Olga Carmona's first-half goal meant Sarina Wiegman's side fell at the last hurdle as England's wait for a team to join the heroes of 1966 goes on.

But Millie Bright, midfielder Georgia Stanway and Dutch-born coach Wiegman suggested their story was not over.

Stanway said: "It's gutting and devastating but that's football. I think we can be proud. The last nine weeks, seven games to win a silver, it's special.

"But it's hard to watch another team celebrate when it's your goal and your dream. When the dust settles, we'll be really proud of this.

"I hope everyone is back home. We're the Lionesses, we won't stop, we'll continue to break barriers and push on."

Captain Bright said: "There are a million different feelings - pride, disappointment, heartbreak - that we didn't win.

"We came off the pitch holding our heads high, knowing we've given absolutely everything in the game. We left it all out there.
