DONALD Trump has been saved from a possible third assassination attempt by quick-thinking officials.
The former US President was campaigning at a rally in Coachella, California, when a man reportedly in possession of multiple firearms was arrested near the site. The suspect, driving a black SUV, was identified at a checkpoint in the city.
Sheriff's officials identified him as 49-year-old Vem Miller, from Las Vegas, and alleged he was in possession of a shotgun, a loaded handgun and a high-capacity magazine. He was taken into custody and booked.
