AARON RAMSEY has revealed he turned down a king’s ransom from Saudi Arabia because he wanted to be at home with his three Welsh princes.
The Wales captain rejected a huge offer from the Saudi Pro League in order to re-sign for hometown club Cardiff City.
At a time when many of Europe’s big stars are heading for the riches on offer in the desert lands, the 32-year-old decided it was time to draw a line in the sand.
In order to spend more time at home with his wife and three young sons, Ramsey rejoined the Bluebirds and will line up for their opening Championship clash at Leeds today.
Ramsey had an offer to remain in France with Nice, as well as the Saudi mega deal, but chose to put family above finance.
“Saudi Arabia is a hot topic with players at the moment,” said Ramsey, who spent 11 years at Arsenal after leaving Cardiff aged 17.
