ISRAEL was last night "at war" after Palestinian militants launched a blitz on the country.
Hamas said it fired thousands of rockets yesterday morning from the neighbouring Gaza Strip, which it rules.
Some 200 people were killed and at least 1,000 wounded, with around 77 of the injured in a critical condition, reports said.
Israel retaliated with strikes on Gaza, killing at least 230 and injuring more than 1,000, officials in Palestine claimed.
Last night, Israeli PM Netanyahu Benjamin said: "We are at war.
