A FORMER Arsenal striker has been charged in connection with an attempt to smuggle £600,000 of cannabis into them UK.
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, 33, was arrested by National Crime Agency officers on Wednesday.
It came after around 60kg of the Class B drug was seized at London's Stansted Airport earlier this month.
Border Force officers found it in two suitcases, which had arrived from Bangkok, Thailand. Emmanuel-Thomas, who came through the Arsenal academy system, was held in custody.
