'THE Black Country Banger' Jai Herbert proved he has plenty more tread on the tyres as he put himself in pole position in his contract negotiations.

As exclusively revealed in Saturday's Starsport, the Wolverhampton lightweight was entering the final fight of his current deal in Abu Dhabi last weekend as faced Rolando Bedoya.

Despite that added pressure, Herbert, who was stepping into the octagon for the first time in more than a year, produced an impressive display as he outlanded his opponent, proving too quick and canny for the tough Peruvian.
