Murray's Olympic farewell in balance after Evans injury

ANDY MURRAY’S return to winning ways in his 1,000th ATP Tour match was overshadowed by a potentially serious knee injury to his Olympics doubles partner Dan Evans.

The tearful British No.3 said he was “heartbroken” and “worried” after slipping and screaming in pain during his singles match at Queen’s Club.

Evans (inset) has pulled out of the doubles here with Murray – and will learn in the next 48 hours if his dream to partner the Scot in his likely last appearance in Paris has been shattered.

He had been one-set all with American Brandon Nakashima.
