LOUIS Rees-Zammit has rocked world the of rugby by quitting the 15-a-side game to follow his dream of playing in the NFL.
The 22-year-old Gloucester wing dropped his bombshell on Wales head coach Warren Gatland just as he was about to announce his 31-times capped flyer in his squad for the upcoming Six Nations.
It meant the team release, scheduled for noon yesterday, had to be set back as Gatland first received a call from Gloucester head coach George Skivington and then Rees-Zammit himself.
Half an hour later, Gatland (inset) had to face the media and explain the incredible turn of events that had led to his star player stepping away from the game he has graced at the highest level for such a short space of time.
