IBRAHIMA Konate aims to show he is "one of the best defenders in the world" at Liverpool and nail down a starting place under Arne Slot.
Konate has seized his chance since replacing Jarell Quansah at half-time in Liverpool's opening win at Ipswich and impressed in their victory over Brentford on Sunday.
The France centre-half was part of Liverpool's success story last season before his form dipped and he was an unused substitute in Jurgen Klopp's last four games.
Konate, 25, did not play a single minute at Euro 2024, like his Reds teammate Joe Gomez, and feels he has a point to prove this season.
He aims to be skipper Virgil van Dijk's regular partner at the heart of the Liverpool defence and shine for new Kop boss Slot's Reds.
