SIR Paul McCartney last night led tributes to Denny Laine, who has died at 79.
The musician, who co-wrote 70s classic Mull Of Kintyre with McCartney, "passed away peacefully," his wife Elizabeth said.
The Wings and Moody Blues co-founder had been battling lung disease.
Bandmate Sir Paul, 81, said: "Denny was a great talent with a fine sense of humour and was always ready to help other people.
