MATTY CASH is revelling in his new licence to thrill at Aston Villa.
Unai Emery’s decision to deploy Cash in an advanced right wing-back role was instantly rewarded after he scored twice in 12 minutes in the first half of Sunday’s 3-1 victory at Burnley.
That made it three wins in a week for Villa and 12 goals – following big victories over Everton and Hibernian.
It was the perfect response to their opening weekend 5-1 thrashing at Newcastle and the double injury blow of losing Emi Buendia and Tyrone Mings to serious knee injuries just days apart.
Cash said: “I was delighted with the brace, but also the fact that we’ve bounced back and won three games in a row. After the Newcastle game, we were all a bit low, which is normal.
