OH JIMMY JIMMY!

JIMMY ANDERSON’S glittering Test career ended with a drop of the hard stuff – and we’re not talking about his celebratory pint of Guinness.

Unlike his long-time sidekick Stuart Broad, who signed off by taking the wicket to earn an Ashes Test victory at The Oval 12 months ago, England’s greatest bowler of all time fluffed his lines by dropping a simple catch.

As England took just 65 minutes to wrap up a crushing innings and 114-run win against woeful West Indies at Lord’s, Gus Atkinson’s match figures of 12-106 were the fourth best on debut in Test history.

Atkinson apologised to the 188-cap icon for taking the final wicket after Anderson, 41, spilled a return chance offered by Gutakesh Motie.

England skipper Ben Stokes laughed: “Jimmy just told him to ‘F off’ –he’s someone who loves to see other people do well and I’m sure he would have loved that fairy-tale ending that Broady got last year.
