RORY McILROY hopes the “stars are aligning” as he seeks to repeat history at the US PGA this week – after winning his two events before Valhalla just like in his golden summer of 2014.
A decade ago, the Ulsterman took the Open and the WGC Bridgestone Invitational before lifting his fourth Major in Louisville.
Now the 35-year-old has won back-to-back titles in New Orleans and the Wells Fargo Championship before the US PGA returns to Kentucky this week.
“I just need to try to replicate whatever I did in 2014,” said McIlroy.
“I really got some confidence. My golf swing feels a lot more comfortable than it has. So going to a venue where I’ve won, it feels like the stars are aligning.
