PHIL SALT has revealed the secrets of his six-hitting success – piling on the pounds with a high-calorie diet and driving his girlfriend mad.
The explosive opener has been a revelation in the T20 series, hitting 21 sixes and hauling England back level from 2-0 down with successive centuries.
But speaking ahead of the series decider in Trinidad tonight, Salt (right) admitted that his superpower comes from a 3,500-calorie-a-day diet which has ramped up the weekly shop to eyewatering levels.
“I’ve been working in the gym the last few months, trying to put a couple of kilos on,” he said. “A bit of that is fat as well, but you can’t win them all.
