Smash those glass ceilings

WITH delicious timing, the Ginger Whinger is back in town as Scotland appoints Humza Yousaf as new First Minister.

This means that for the first time British Asian politicians are set to hold the roles of Prime Minister with Rishi Sunak, First Minister Yousaf and Mayor of London Sadiq Khan.

We've also had our first black Chancellor and two successive female home secretaries of Asian descent.

And, say what you want about the Conservative party and SNP, but women leaders don't seem to be a problem. The Tories have had three and Scotland one.

Meanwhile in Wales, Conservative Natasha Asghar made history by becoming the first female from a Black or Asian Minority Ethnic background to be elected to the Senedd.

And in Scotland, Labour is headed up by Muslim dentist Anas Sarwar.
