NURSES and paramedics vowed to strike for “as long as it takes” as they joined the biggest walkout in NHS history.
Tens of thousands of workers downed tools yesterday in a battle for better pay and safer working conditions.
They included the nurses in a third of English NHS trusts, plus ambulance staffin the GMB and Unite unions.
