STEVE BORTHWICK is aware of a storm coming the way of Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and insists he will do everything to protect the youngster this week.

Exeter wing Feyi-Waboso came off the bench for the last two minutes of this win to claim his first cap, with that short stint now tying him to England.

Feyi-Waboso, a medical student at Exeter University, was born in Cardiff and was in the local academy before being courted by Wales.

Warren Gatland and his Welsh coaching staff were not impressed by his decision to go the Twickenham route and Feyi-Waboso can expect to be a talking point before the two teams clash at England's HQ on Saturday.

Borthwick saw what social media abuse did to Owen Farrell, who has temporarily quit Test rugby, at France 2023 and is determined to shield Feyi-Waboso from any flak.
