THE MARK OF PORRO

IF TOTTENHAM go all the way in the FA Cup this season, they will replay Pedro Porro's goal for years to come.

It was one of those brilliant strikes good enough to light up any cup run and leave the fans dreaming of Wembley.

The full-back's sensational 25-yard rasper was totally out of sync with a dull FA Cup third-round tie but the Spurs fans in the sell-out 60,982 crowd will not care.

Boss Ange Postecoglou clenched his fists, celebrated the moment and probably felt a sense of relief that the 78th-minute winner meant their winter break was not interrupted by a replay.

It was no more than the hosts deserved and they must fancy themselves for a long overdue cup run.

If you ask any match-going Tottenham fan, they will tell you they have loved the Postecoglou rollercoaster ride. Never a dull moment with his go-for-broke style of football.

But while Big Ange has got plenty of pictures of him with trophies, his side have not won any silverware since the Carabao Cup 16 years ago.

And even worse, they have not reached the FA Cup final in 33 years - the last time they won the famous old trophy.
