DESTINY'S CHILD Luke Littler is standing at the gates of heaven, one game away from sporting immortality.

As the 80mph gusts of Storm Henk howled outside Alexandra Palace the boy who would be king reached the Paddy Power PDC Darts World Championship final - and Rob Cross was gone with the wind.

Earlier in the tournament, Littler tried to dampen the hype around him by saying he had "overachieved" simply by getting beyond the first round.

Who was he trying to kid? This was simply sensational You may not believe in the tooth fairy, the Easter bunny or Father Christmas.

But if you believe in miracles, then a 16-year-old boy is going to win the World Championship tonight.

And if he makes it to the summit, it will be one of the most fantastic sporting feats of 2024 or any other year.

Cross played well, but Littler's 6-2 win was the work of a child prodigy whose talent is off the scale.

His 106.05 average was his fourth 100-plus median in six games.

His 16 maximum 180s hammered the treble 20 'lipstick' into submission.
