Britain’s biggest airport made a loss of £684 million last year, a major recovery from the £1.2 billion deficits of the two Covid-ravaged years when lockdowns and travel restrictions massively reduced the number of people flying.
The west London hub has made an average loss of around £30 on each of the 103 million passengers who have flown to or from the airport since 2020.
