SADIQ KHAN has called on Elon Musk to think again about allowing Donald Trump back on Twitter after revealing the extent of online abuse he says he suffered.
The Mayor says he has received almost 250,000 racist messages on social media since he was elected in May 2016 – much of it coming from the US when Mr Trump was running for the White House and after he became president.
Mr Trump was kicked off the platform after his supporters stormed the US Capitol and he was accused of risking “further incitement to violence" with his tweets. Mr Musk, the richest man in the world who agreed a $44 billion (£34.5 billion) takeover bid with the Twitter board last month, said the ban on the former president was a “morally bad decision and foolish in the extreme" and he would reverse it.
