Koray Alpergin, 43, owner of Turkish station Bizim FM, was abducted from an address in Ebony Crescent, Enfield alongside a woman in her thirties.
A key line of inquiry is that they were "taken against their will in a vehicle" just before 2pm on Friday, Scotland Yard said. The woman, reportedly his girlfriend, was found physically unharmed.
Essex police were alerted to Mr Alpergin's body near the Oakwood Hill Industrial Estate in Loughton at around 11.55am on Saturday.
Three men arrested in the Kent area on suspicion of murder remain in police custody. A post-mortem will take place in due course.
Relatives and friends mourning Mr Alpergin said they are engulfed by "impossible pain and sadness".
