₹18,000 a month for priests, granthis if AAP wins: Kejriwal

WITH AN EYE on Delhi's Pandit and Sikh voters, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal Monday announced his fifth poll promise -- ₹18,000 a month to all pandits and pujaris working in temples and granthis in gurdwaras across the city if the party returns to power in the Assembly election next year.

The AAP has so far announced four welfare schemes targeting specific categories of voters, including women, Dalits, and senior citizens. It has also promised 24x7 water supply. Through the latest announcement, Pujari Granthi Samman Rashi Scheme, they are targeting Pandits and Sikh voters who account for about 20% of the electorate.
