THE PRIORITY OF monetary policy should be on restoring the inflation-growth balance and aligning inflation to the apex bank's target of 4%, said Shaktikanta Das, former governor, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), according to the minutes of his last monetary policy committee (MPC) meeting, released on Friday. Lower inflation will enhance households' disposable income and increase their purchasing power and this approach would support consumption and investment demand, Das said.

THE ASSETS UNDER MANAGEMENT (AUM) of the National Pension System (NPS) are expected to touch ₹15 lakh crore by the end of FY25, registering a growth of 28% from ₹11.72 lakh crore as on March 31 this year, said Deepak Mohanty, chairman, Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), in a media interaction on Saturday.
