"We announced that E20 blended petrol will be available at 100 retail outlets, its already available at 600 outlets and at the rate at which we are going before long 1,000 retail outlets will be selling E20," he said at a G20 conference on 'Índia's role in the furture of energy'.
The first E20 petrol pump was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bengaluru in February 2023. E20 is a blend of 20% ethanol with petrol. The government aims to achieve a complete 20% blending of ethanol by 2025.
