NEW DELHI: The Delhi government's withdrawal of its writ petition regarding the "Farishtey scheme" was an "admission of guilt," alleged lieutenant governor (LG) VK Saxena's office on Friday, as tensions escalated further between the LG and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.
The statement came a day after the Supreme Court urged both the LG and the Delhi government to resolve disputes amicably.
According to the LG's office, the petition filed by Delhi health minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, accusing the LG of obstructing the scheme's implementation, was politically motivated and unfounded.
Officials claimed Bharadwaj withdrew the petition to avoid being "exposed" in court.
The AAP countered the LG's accusations, saying that his office's remarks amounted to "contempt of court" for allegedly misrepresenting the proceedings.
