Meanwhile, forest staff have intensified search for the tiger in villages where it was spotted. Additional teams and equipment have been brought in to track the wild cat.
"The movement is not very clear but if it remains in the same direction for another day, the animal may go back to the forest, leaving the human habitat. But still we have to wait another day to be sure," said Sitanshu Pandey, divisional forest officer Awadh Range on Wednesday.
