Shah's comments on Ambedkar, during his reply to the debate on the Constitution in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, triggered a political row with the Opposition launching a scathing attack on the Union home minister for allegedly disrespecting Ambedkar.
The Congress protested against Shah as the party demanded an apology for his comments. Rijiju, in response, said that the opposition party was "distorting" the BJP leader's comments.
