Hindustan Times Navi Mumbai|January 06, 2025
NCP leader and cabinet minister Dhananjay Munde came under fresh fire on Sunday when Suresh Dhas, BJP MLA from the Ashti Patoda constituency in Beed, alleged that the deal to extort ₹2 crore from Avadaa, a firm which has a windmill project in Massajog village, was struck at his residence.

PUNE:

Walmik Karad, Munde's aide and an arrested accused in the extortion case, was present during the meeting and demanded ₹50 lakh in advance towards assembly poll expenses, Dhas told a rally organised by the Maratha community in Pune. The rally sought punishment for those accused in the murder of Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh.

Munde could not be reached for comments despite repeated efforts. According to the criminal investigation department (CID), both the murder and the extortion cases are linked.
